Who I am

From $200 and a stack of top loaders to a full operation.

I've loved this hobby since I was a kid — I can still remember pulling my first LeBron rookie out of a 2003 Topps pack.

I got back in seriously in 2019, posting small ripping videos. When COVID hit I kept going, and in 2022 I started flipping value-box cards. I told my wife I was starting with $200, and if I couldn't make it work with $200, I'd quit.

It took a while. A lot of grinding. Top loading thousands of fifty-cent cards. But it built into what Big John's Cards is now.

This isn't my full-time gig — I'm an attorney by trade. I'm also partnered with 740 Hobby in Marietta, Ohio, where I run the sports section for the owner and my friend Cody.

My approach to the hobby is simple: treat people with respect, dignity, and fairness. That's it.
